Ultrasonic Impact Treatment (UIT)
Extending Service Life. Strengthening Welds. Reducing Fatigue.
Ultrasonic Impact Treatment is a post-weld improvement technique that uses high-frequency mechanical impacts combined with ultrasonic oscillations to treat welded joints.
This process improves weld toe geometry, refines the metal grain structure, and introduces beneficial compressive residual stress, all of which significantly enhances the fatigue strength of the welded area.
